What areas do you think you are already using Web 2.0 technologies? Web
3.0 technologies? Give an example of each and indicate how often you use
them, whether they are professional tools or personal tools.
As a teacher in summit we are required to have a website to provide information to parents and students. I also use websites like youtube, classdojo, and edmodo to do this as well. To be honest after reading and learning more about Web 3.0 i can not really figure out anyways i am currently using this technology. I look forward to investigating this more and trying to apply those technologies into my class
I find that I am using Web 2.0 activities as both a professional tool and personal tool everyday. As a professional tool Google Docs is one technology I use most. Sharing documents on Google docs is an easy way to collaborate and edit documents within the department. Pinterest is another 2.0 technology which I use both professionally and personally each day. I find new inspiration for the subjects I teach or a personal interest. Another 2.0 aspect about Pinterest is that a group can collaborate on a board. The web 3.0 technology I use in the classroom is Augmented Reality. ZooBurst is a digital storytelling tool that lets anyone easily create his or her own 3D pop-up books. Another augmented reality is AR Flashcards where primary students can learn the alphabet, colors and shapes. The augmented reality application I use for older students is Spacecraft 3D where students learn about and interact with a variety of spacecraft that are used to explore our solar system, study Earth, and observe the universe. Personally a Web 3.0 tool which I utilize, when needed, is ability of Audible to find books that are similar to the genre preferred. Audible will recognize the books that are purchased and find similar suggestions. Although these are examples of web 3.0 tools, the one most of us use already is cloud sharing. From pictures to documents that can be placed on multiple devices in a click of a key. ~Kim VonTobel
